Beautiful Vanessa, it's like the buds are guarding the rose!
I Love the lighting, it really makes the rose & buds stand out!

@MaryB: Thank you Mary, its just another way of experimenting. I used spot light on my camera software to get this effect and make the main subject stand out.

@Hrg: Thank you Hrg. I think I did use the flash because it was getting dark at the time I took the photo. It's a new camera and wasn't sure on the settings and at times the flash did not go off.

@Bron: As far as I know she still is at university. Without mentioning no names, she was awarded carer of the year back in 2001/2002 and she met up with Princess margaret.
